Legends In Ghana Music

Ghana have introduced several talents in her Creative Arts Industry especially in the Music Industry, some of whom I call legends, because their hard work and determination has been a great impact in putting original Ghanaian Music in the spotlight.

Here are few of Ghana's Music Legends:
Papa Yankson

Papa Yankson was a highlife artiste, songwriter and music producer .'Wiase Mu Nsem", "WO Yere Anaa WO Maame", " Show Your Love", were some of his hit songs. He was awarded Grand Medal of Ghana during the 2006 National Honours and Awards Ceremony by President John Agyekum Kufour, in recognition of his input in Ghana music.

Awurama Badu


Awurama Badu is one of Ghana's first female highlife artiste. Her career started when the music industry was largely claimed by males she composed songs that were hit, like: "Medofo Adaada Me", " Komkom","Emelia"etc.

Amakye Dede
Abrantie Daniel Amakye Dede popularly known as Amakye Dede is one of  Ghana's premier highlife artists popularly referred to as "Iron Boy" some of his hit albums are iron boy, ", "Dabi Dabi Ebeyie"," Akonoba" and more.
Nana Ampadu
Nana Ampadu is a highlife artiste known to have composed over 800 songs. Some of his musical career was seen in politics because he composed a song for Jerry Rawlings,of the National Democratic Congress Party to use in the 1992 election campaign.

A.B Crentsil
Alfred Benjamin Crentsil is also one of Ghana's finest highlife musician. His hit albums include: Hollywood Highlife Party/ Moses,The Best of HighLife etc.

These are just a few of Ghana's music Legends who have helped promote Ghana Internationally and locally through music.
