The Standard Based Curriculum

A learner from Henrietta Preparatory School Nima Few months ago, some Ghanaians where contemplating over the fact that Ghana's Education System for the basic school is objective based of which i am included,because it did not allow pupils to explore and feel part of the learning environment. The National Council For Curriculum and Assessment, based on the above has developed a new curriculum which is a shift from the objective based curriculum to a standard based curriculum with focus on strengthening the acquisition of the 4Rs ( Reading, wRiting, aRithmetic and cReativity ) as basic skills for life long learning and national development, which has been implemented since the beginning of 2019/2020 academic year in September by the basic and kindergarten schools in Ghana.
